Debossing is the sinking of your design into a page so that it invokes a sense of depth. Debossing indents the graphic or text down into the page, creating a sunken 3D effect.

In the printing industry, debossing refers to a method of pressing an image into paper or cardstock to create a three dimensional design.

Embossing does the opposite of debossing by lifting the graphic or text to create a raised effect.
